The tamarillo is an egg-shaped edible fruit, locally called "tee-to-mee-to", from "tree tomato". Through the building of this house, everything changed, the landscape and the building, except for the tamarillo tree. It still stands at the entrance, welcoming all who visit, and the name took hold.

Breakfast is included unless your booking is room-only. Snacks and dinner are cooked to order from the Oratia Red menu and billed as you go. Travelling with an infant? A quick dal khichdi any time.
Candlelight dinner for two. A table set in our dining space with candles, fresh roses and petals, soft music, and a Black Forest cake to close the evening.
Live BBQ by the fire. The marinade needs at least four hours, so order by noon for that evening.

Every member of our team is ready to step into any role: serving a meal, setting up your bed, organising your plans, or sharing stories. Some live right here on the property, so someone is always around, day or night.
Registered guests onlyNo outside visitors on the property. Valid photo ID at check-in for the primary guest, and for the rest of your party where needed. Unmarried couples and all-bachelor groups are welcome with ID. The person booking must be 21 or over.
CancellationCharges are on the total booking value, not on the amount paid.7 or more days before check-in: full refund of the amount paid.3 to 6 days before: 50% of the total booking value is retained.Less than 3 days before: 100% of the total booking value is retained.For example, a ₹10,000 stay with check-in on 20 December: cancel by 11:59 PM on 13 December for a full refund. From 14 to 17 December, ₹5,000 is retained. From 18 December, the full ₹10,000 is retained.
Natural calamitiesHeavy rain alerts, road closures or landslides: we retain 25% of the total booking value and refund the rest of what you've paid.
