Our Contract

  • If you are a consumer (i.e. not dealing as a business with us), The Tamarillo B&B (we/us) sells all rooms and extras to you subject to these terms.
  • A contract is formed between you and The Tamarillo B&B when we issue you with a booking reference number for your room and extras (if applicable).
  • Management reserve the right to cancel any booking. Any disputes are subject to The Nilgiris Jurisdiction.

Your Booking

  • You cannot transfer or resell your booking (in whole or in part). If you transfer or resell (or attempt to transfer or resell) then The Tamarillo B&B will terminate your booking and retain any money paid to us for such booking.
  • You may make a booking on someone else’s behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that any customer in your booking complies with these terms as if that customer had made the booking.
  • You can only make a booking if you are 21 years old or over. If you arrive at The Tamarillo and are under 21 years of age you will not be permitted to stay alone.
  • You must ensure that the name on a booking is correct at the time of booking, this cannot be changed after making the booking.

Rates and Payment

  • The rate for each room is as published on our website or travel platforms at the time of your booking, or, in the case of a telephone booking, as advised to you at the time of booking.
  • All payments are due in full at the time of booking unless otherwise advised by The Tamarillo B&B.
  • You must be able to show photo identification such as a passport or driver’s license or a valid credit or debit card if you are paying by cash for a walk-in booking at a The Tamarillo B&B.
  • We offer certain extras when you make your booking. The room rate excludes any extras unless we expressly agree with you otherwise as part of your booking. Extras are subject to availability and cannot be transferred to any other booking.
  • You agree to be personally liable in the event that the indicated person, company or association fails to pay part or full amount of charges incurred by you.
  • Acceptable Payment Modes: UPI, Debit, and Credit Cards. International cards will incur an additional 2-4% transaction fee as per bank norms

Check-in and Check-out

  • Check-in begins at 12:00 noon on your scheduled arrival date, with early check-in available upon request, subject to availability. Checkout is at 11:00 am, and late checkout may be arranged based on availability.
  • All foreign guests must provide passport identification with a valid visa at check-in (this is a legal requirement).
  • All domestic guests are required to provide government-issued photo identification proof with address (Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or Masked Aadhar Card).
  • Subject to availability of the storage space, the guests can store luggage in the luggage room, at their own sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause, Luggage may not be stored for a period of over 24 hrs.

Booking Cancellation

  • The guest can cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival. The guest will be charged 50% of the total price if they cancel in the 7 days before arrival. If the guest doesn’t show up, they will be charged the total price of the reservation.
  • Refunds may take up to 7 working days to reflect in your account.
  • The hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking in case of guest misconduct, rude behaviour, fraud, possession of any weapon, involvement in any unlawful activities, and any blacklisted profiles.

Booking Modification

  • You may cancel or modify your reservation by reducing the number of rooms or nights, either prior to arrival or during your stay.
  • ALL modifications (exc. room upgrades) are treated as a cancellation and a new booking. All clauses of the Cancellation Policy are applicable. For date changes, we cannot guarantee the same rates will be available as at the time of booking.
  • Room upgrades will be provided on request where possible. Cancellation Policy does not apply here. Payable amount will be the difference between rate at the time of booking and rate of the upgraded room at time of modification.

No Show Policy

  • The entire booking will be charged at 100% if no cancellation or amendments are made by the final booking date.

GST

  • If you need a GST Invoice, please confirm the GST number for billing, at the time of check in. GST number once provided will not be changed after check in. The Tamarillo B&B will not be liable or indemnify any loss that you may incur, due to failure to intimate correct GST details.

House Rules

  • Guests are not allowed to cause any disturbance, nuisance, or annoyance to others on The Tamarillo premises. It is expected that guests will conduct themselves in a respectable, civilized, and decent manner.
  • Loud music parties are not permitted, considering the calm nature of The Tamarillo surroundings.
  • We do not allow visitors to go to the guest rooms. This is to ensure the safety and security of our guests. If you are sharing a room, you agree that your stay is with mutual consent among you and your roommate.
  • You will not leave children unattended in any rooms or public areas at any times.
  • Gambling, prostitution, drug use, carrying weapons, explosives, flammable objects, or engaging in any activities prohibited by law are strictly prohibited on The Tamarillo premises.
  • Outside pets are not allowed within The Tamarillo premises.
  • Money, jewellery, and other valuables must be kept securely by the guest. Management is not responsible for any loss of personal items.

Rooms

  • Maximum occupancy for rooms is clearly stated during the booking process. Guests overriding these guidelines will be required to purchase another room at the published daily rate.
  • You must not smoke in any of our rooms. If you do so, we will terminate your booking without refund and require you to leave the premises immediately. You authorise us to charge you any costs we incur if you smoke or cause damage in our rooms including costs for specialist cleaning (to make the room fit for sale as a non-smoking environment) and the cost of the room for any time period it is unusable. You authorise us to charge this amount to the payment card used in your booking. We will send you a breakdown of these charges within 10 working days. We may refuse to accept bookings from you in future.
  • Consumption of food on the bed is prohibited. Any food that may spill or cause damage to the bed is not allowed. A charge will be applied if the bed is soiled or damaged.

Safety & Security

  • Bringing flammable materials, explosives, or firearms into The Tamarillo premises is strictly prohibited. The storage or bringing of any combustible, hazardous, prohibited, or objectionable goods is also prohibited.
  • Fire extinguishers are placed in designated areas for use in case of a fire emergency.
  • Security cameras have been installed in the common (parking, staircase) and communal (bonfire and restaurant) areas with 30-day playback.

Vehicle Parking

  • Parking is available on-site and is free of charge. It is the guest’s responsibility, and management is not liable for any damage or theft.

Damages and Liability

  • Guests will be held responsible for any damage to hotel amenities, articles, furniture, property, etc., caused by themselves, their visitors, or any other person for whom they are responsible. Guests must pay for and settle any loss or damage in full, as deemed appropriate by the management.

Eco-Friendly Practices

  • The Tamarillo is a plastic-free zone, and there is zero tolerance for the use of banned plastics as per local regulations. As per the directions issued by the Hon’ble High Court of Madras, 1 to 4 litre water cans and soft drink bottles are banned in Nilgiris District.
